Is the shizzy.

I can't wait until the full version comes out. It's got the new improvements of Vista, plus tons of additional approvements, and has removed all of Vista's problems.

I only have 2 grievances:

1. You can't set specific apps to combine on the taskbar, it's either all or none.
2. It starts up TOO FAST! I can't go make a sammich and read war and peace in the meantime :(

Although some of the improvements might come from the fact that my Vista install came with tons of crapware and bloated up over time, it's still noticibly snappier than the day I got my laptop.

Pretty useful actually, I'm a huge fan of digitization. I've got a bunch of papers here, which I've been meaning to scan with my dad's ancient scanner, but hey! I won!

I used to be able to run TF2 on max settings with 30-60 FPS. But no more.

With every update to TF2 comes more resources needed, and I can't simply construct additional pylons... I need a game launcher.

You know, a program that will exit all of these little processes running in the background (like my virus scanner, GoogleUpdater, etc.) and launch TF2, but restart them when I close it.

Any advice?

So far, it feels like it's the first MMOFPS to actually be an MMOFPS, and not an MMO with reskinned bows and arrows.

Can't say anything specific (Non-Disclosure Agreement), but so far it's really good.

Oh yeah. It happened.
I went to the Gizmodo Gallery in the city today. Avatar and Avatar (and his brother) tagged along.
The screen was so big that the xbox couldn't handle it splitscreen even with HDMI (might have been that COD4 isn't that good at handling splitscreen, or maybe the TV's refresh rate was just garbage- the other tv it was hooked up to had a nice refresh rate... it was one foot long though.) And it was pixelated... I'm told the TV is worth $70,000, they just rented it.

We got to play in a tournament with 2 Giz writers, and with eachother (hardcore mode on shipment with a bunch of P90s, with a 1500 Score limit? Uh-huh.
...
Spitfire won. I was in third :P
We also got to play StreetFighter HD somethingorotherremix.

The best part? The TV-B-Gone aimed RIGHT AT IT... in the middle of the tournament.
We all lost anyway :P

I just downloaded CrossOver Games for Mac 7 day trial.
I'm seeing how it works out. My friend says that if this computer can handle the HL2 demo fine, it can handle TF2 fine.
This was the cheaper alternative to building a PC. If I want to use CX Games, it's 60$... yeesh.

Yup. Friday night, while playing some Brawl Pit in Halo 3 (whatever it was called, Double XP FFA Big Team), Avalanche got freaky. It almost was like looking through the Pen and Ink Forge Filter, but it was more like rotoscoping.
I thought "Okay, weird... lag I guess." But when I brought up the player list, pause menu, and guide, I thought that my old, crappy TV was broken. But no, TV channels were fine. Maybe the AV ports? Nope.

After calling customer support and speaking with someone who evidently was from a foreign country but very nice and understandable, they said they would have to send me a coffin.

2 weeks later, it came back 2 days before UPS siad it would arrive. 1 month xbl extension in hand, I'm pretty happy.

The power button on the new box seems to need to be pushed harder, though.

Yes, I forgot to post this... :P
